We partner with schools and community organizations to deliver exceptional after-school programs, workshops, and educational experiences through a marketplace of outstanding teaching artists and enrichment providers.

We're a fast-growing, venture-backed startup building the operating system that powers enrichment in schools across the country.

About the Role

We're looking for an Accounting Manager who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a passion for improving business operations.

You'll own our accounting function, ensuring the books remain accurate, timely, and well organized. Beyond accounting, you'll help improve reporting, automate manual processes, support revenue operations, and contribute to operational initiatives that help Togetherhood scale.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys accounting but wants broader business responsibility in a growing startup.

You'll report to our Director of Operations and work closely with the CEO and leaders across the company.

What You'll OwnAccounting (Approximately 50%)
  • Own the monthly close in QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Manage accounts payable using Tipalti
  • Monitor accounts receivable using Upflow and resolve exceptions
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile bank accounts, payroll, and credit cards
  • Maintain accurate financial records and strong internal controls
  • Coordinate with our external CPA on tax filings, year-end close, and audits
Revenue Operations (Approximately 25%)
  • Calculate and administer sales commissions
  • Work with DOE for metros in which we operate to ensure smooth invoicing, collections and vendor payments
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner invoice questions, responding quickly, clearly, and accurately to keep billing on track
  • Maintain commission models and supporting documentation
  • Improve CRM data quality and reporting
  • Build recurring dashboards and operational reports
  • Support revenue reporting and business analytics
Operations & Systems (Approximately 25%)
  • Help operationalize expansion into new markets
  • Coordinate vendor onboarding and compliance requirements with school districts and government agencies
  • Improve workflows across finance, operations, and customer success
  • Document and standardize business processes
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work
  • Improve workflows using AI and modern software tools
  • Optimize integrations across QuickBooks, HubSpot, Tipalti, Upflow, Stripe, and other business systems
What We're Looking For
  • 3-7 years of accounting experience in a small or growing business
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (CPA or CPA candidate is a strong plus. if needed)
  • Experience owning bookkeeping and the monthly close
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience
  • Strong analytical thinking: you can break down a problem, work with data, and reason toward a clear answer
  • Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent email communication and rapport: you are highly responsive, professional, and able to be firm about payment terms while staying friendly and building trust with partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity and a desire to improve systems and processes
  • Comfort working across multiple functions in a growing company
