Job description

The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for analyzing current business processes, assisting management in the implementation of operational improvements and working on projects with manufacturing teams.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Improve operation costs, quality and turn time
  • Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards
  • Work on productivity improvement projects and initiate or manage cost reduction strategies
  • Identify areas to reduce waste in manufacturing processes using the LEAN methodology
  • Complete programs and projects on time and on budget
  • Collect, analyze and present engineering data to evaluate projects
  • Requires the ability to identify cost reduction opportunities, estimate cost impact, research available solutions and implement projects
  • Educate others on lean manufacturing and/or process improvement programs
  • Collaborate with the process development team to facilitate new products, process improvements and new technology
  • Conduct and lead project meetings
  • Work to resolve issues, improve quality, reduce customer complaints, ensure consistent batch quality and improve material yield
  • Coordinate plant layouts, machine installation and start-up processes

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Experience in textile manufacturing processes preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge with LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen and/or Pareto Analysis
