Nutritionist (WIC Program)

Location: Lumberton, NC
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Schedule: Day Shift | 40 Hours per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nutritionist to join a county WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program in Lumberton, NC on a 13-week contract assignment. In this role, you will provide nutrition services and education to individuals and families, helping improve health outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care and counseling.

The Dietitian coordinates all phases of nutrition care, including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling for patients and outpatients in a variety of settings. This position plays a vital role in promoting health and wellness throughout the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to WIC participants and families.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress and outcomes.
  • Document encounters and maintain accurate records in the Crossroads charting system.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community partners to support participant health goals.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices through evidence-based nutrition practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human .Nutrition, or a related field (preferred and/or as required by state regulations).
  • Previous Nutritionist/Dietitian experience required.
  • Experience working with the Crossroads charting system required.
  • Two (2) years of hospital, clinic, public health, or related experience preferred.
