SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is seeking a full-time academic Epilepsy Specialist to join our growing, multidisciplinary epilepsy program. We are looking for a neurologist with fellowship training in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology who is passionate about delivering comprehensive epilepsy care, advancing academic medicine, and contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized care for individuals with complex seizure disorders, participate in an expanding epilepsy monitoring unit, and engage in teaching and research within a vibrant academic setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care for stroke patients and uphold the highest standards of practice for the patient population
  • Ensure call coverage for holidays, vacations, and other time off by coordinating with medical staff
  • Maintain a private office and oversee all clinical decision-making during service hours
  • Serve as an advisor and consultant on operational policies, including:
    • Purchasing and capital allocations
    • Managed care plan participation
    • Budget and practice expenses
    • Medicare/Medicaid participation
    • Billing and collections
    • Personnel management
    • Risk management and quality assurance
    • Coding compliance
  • Provide after-hours call coverage for practice patients in addition to scheduled office appointments
  • Participate in community outreach activities such as speaking engagements, writing, and special clinical programs
  • Ensure compliance with risk management, coding, and quality assurance standards
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned
