This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

The Operations Program Manager II for TeraWave will support the operational execution and program management activities that keep one of the most ambitious satellite manufacturing programs in history running at pace and on schedule.

Reporting to the Director of Operations Program Management, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support build execution, BOM and material management, schedule tracking, and operational performance across subassembly operations - from new product introduction through volume production.

What You'll DoSupport Operations Program Execution
  • Support day-to-day program execution across assigned subassembly operations, tracking build quantities, schedule progress, and open action items
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program status documentation, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility into operational health
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of production program schedules, flagging risks and schedule conflicts to senior program managers in a timely manner
  • Coordinate across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to support build readiness and resolve day-to-day execution blockers
  • Support the preparation of program status reports, operational metrics, and leadership briefings
  • Participate in and support governance meetings, structured reviews, and escalation processes by tracking actions and following up on open items

Support Subassembly Operations Performance

  • Assist in managing build quantity planning, BOM tracking, and build material management across assigned subassembly operations
  • Monitor material availability and flag shortages, long-lead component risks, or supply gaps to senior program managers and supply chain teams
  • Support proactive supplier engagement activities to help protect pipeline continuity and avoid schedule impacts
  • Track cost targets across assigned subassembly operations and assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction as production matures
  • Ensure subassembly operations documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with program requirements and configuration baselines
  • Coordinate with material managers and operations teams to ensure parts availability supports build schedules

Support Production Scheduling

  • Assist the Operations Scheduling team in maintaining and updating the master production schedule to reflect current operational realities
  • Monitor schedule adherence and flag deviations or risks to senior team members with clear supporting data
  • Support the preparation of schedule review materials and follow up on actions from scheduling reviews with cross-functional partners
  • Help identify scheduling conflicts and assist in developing resolution options for review by senior program managers

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and escalate operational gaps, inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities to senior program managers
  • Support the implementation of process improvements and operational frameworks across assigned program areas
  • Assist in root cause analysis activities for production issues, contributing to containment actions and corrective action tracking
  • Maintain accurate operational data and metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives and leadership reporting
What You BringMinimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in operations program management, production program management, manufacturing program management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience supporting program execution and schedule management across cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of BOM management, build material management, and production scheduling fundamentals
  • Experience tracking and managing action items, program status, and operational metrics in a structured and disciplined manner
  • Ability to identify risks and escalate issues clearly and in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate program status clearly to team members and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in productivity and analytical tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and project management platforms
  • BA/BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in satellite manufacturing, aerospace, or similarly complex electromechanical production environments
  • Experience supporting operations across NPI and volume production phases
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP/MRP platforms, and production scheduling tools
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or demonstrated interest in process improvement methodologies
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification or coursework
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality management frameworks
  • Experience working with material managers and supply chain teams to support build readiness and parts availability

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $85,049.00 - $119,067.90

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
