Job description

The Operations Manager contributes to Langham’s goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, regulatory compliance, and profitability by leading the Inbound and Outbound operations of Life Sciences warehouse and distribution facilities. As the primary face to the customer, this role ensures that all activities are executed in accordance with Langham Life Sciences Logistics standards, client requirements, cGMP/GDP expectations, FDA/DSCSA regulations, and industry best practices.

This position defines the work environment, sets goals and performance standards, and ensures compliance, safety, product integrity, operational discipline, and cultural alignment. The Operations Manager leads Warehouse Supervisors and their teams, ensuring performance across operational, financial, compliance, and customer satisfaction metrics.

 The Operations Manager also contributes to Langham’s revenue goals for temperature-controlled warehousing and distribution by supporting business development opportunities and enabling operational growth. This role works closely with the Sr. Operations Manager to identify process improvements, support LEAN initiatives, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Outcomes Expected 

Operational Excellence & Productivity

  • Lead all Inbound and Outbound Life Sciences warehouse operations.
  • Manage operational metrics and benchmark performance indicators.
  • Achieve financial, quality, and supply performance aligned with customer expectations.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and support LEAN activities.
  • Ensure all team members follow Langham policies, procedures, and cGMP/GDP requirements.
  • Manage and adhere to departmental budgets.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, GDP, DSCSA, and quality standards.
  • Maintain audit readiness for regulatory, customer, and internal audits.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation following ALCOA+.
  • Support investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and quality initiatives.

Safety & Regulatory Adherence

  • Enforce safety programs and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with TSA, Homeland Security, and regulatory mandates.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through reporting, corrective actions, and risk reduction.

Customer Expectations & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client requests and issues.
  • Represent Langham in customer meetings and business reviews.
  • Manage daily/weekly customer communication and reporting.
  • Monitor KPIs and adjust priorities to meet customer supply chain needs.

 Leadership & Workforce Culture

  • Manage, coach, and develop Warehouse Supervisors and staff.
  • Ensure staffing levels meet operational requirements.
  • Support career development planning and team competency.
  • Promote positive communication and collaboration across departments.

Education and Experience 

  • B.S./B.A. in supply chain management, business or related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of operations management experience in a warehousing, logistics/distribution, and/or supply chain environment. 
  • Experience in temperature-controlled or highly regulated environment. 
  • Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Certification preferred.
  • Certified Designated Representative (CDR) licensure is desired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment. Travel as needed. Work is performed in office and warehouse environments with varying temperatures throughout the facility. Physical movements including bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally as part of daily work routine.
