Senior SQL Server DBA
Location - Dallas ,TX
Role Summary
Altimetrik is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to own and support a Microsoft SQL Server environment backing a large-scale Retail Inventory System (Yellow Dog). This is a hands-on DBA role focused on administration, performance tuning, data quality, and scalability. Application development is not required.
The role requires strong business communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across Retail Operations, Finance, and IT to ensure reliable, accurate, and performant data systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support SQL Server (2016-2022) environments
  • Perform query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and stability issues
  • Execute database maintenance (DBCC, index rebuilds, cleanup)
  • Manage backups, restores, and HA/DR readiness
  • Support SQL Agent jobs and ETL schedules
  • Validate and troubleshoot integrations between POS, retail systems, and ERP
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues impacting inventory and financial reporting
  • Document database architecture and data flows
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate issues into business impact
