UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia.
Description
Core Responsibilities
Database Architecture & Design: Architecting, configuring, and installing scalable Microsoft SQL Server database modules, data models, and process flows.
Performance Tuning: Conducting advanced query optimization, indexing strategies, and database performance baseline tuning.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HADR): Designing and implementing robust backup/restore strategies and high-availability solutions like Always On Availability Groups.
Cloud & Hybrid Management: Maintaining cloud-based database environments, specifically Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Storage, and hybrid database environments.
Security & Compliance: Establishing secure data access controls, administering encryption, and conducting compliance audits.
Automation: Writing PowerShell, Python, or T-SQL scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and system patching.
Collaboration & Leadership: Partnering with application developers, infrastructure teams, and project managers-frequently within Agile/Scrum delivery structures-while mentoring junior database technicians.
