Job description

***Position is 100% on-site*** ***Secret Clearance Is Required*** Job Summary Seeking a Sr. SQL Developer / Enterprise Data Warehouse with Data Warehousing and cloud environment experience to support to the Office of Information Systems (TC) within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The DEA’s SQL Server-based EDW is used by many DEA’s applications and is a critical component of statistical reporting.Active secret clearance is required. As with any position, additional expectation exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours , meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities * To assist the EDW Team and provide data warehouse information and facilitate the transition to a cloud environment
  • Create and maintain database integrity and performance using scripts and/or Visual Studio Database Projects
  • Create new and maintain/improve all data transformation services: Microsoft SSIS and others using VS data tools
  • Create SQL Scripts to deploy / enhance / maintain databases
  • Create and maintain database security, including, but not limited to: Data Base Roles, Users and Logins
  • May write reports or facilitate data access by other means as needed, to include SSRS, PowerBI, etc
  • Conducts performance tuning and database design, dimensional analysis and modeling
  • Maintain and add to an extensive set of SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) of data
  • Support the ongoing effort to establish a Data Engineering environment supported by Python and other languages to perform ETL and ELT (Extract, Load, and Transform) operations
  • Supports the review of database systems from non-Concorde applications in other DEA offices for ingestion into the EDW
  • Participate in daily Agile stand-up meetings and monthly planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospective sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications * U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Must be able to pass a DEA Security Approval
  • 2+ years of Cloud environment experience (AWS or Microsoft Azure)
  • 8+ years of experience in the design, development and implementation of SQL Server databases creating and maintaining T-SQL Procedures, functions, and triggers
  • 5+ years of experience with SSIS packages for data manipulation and loading in an enterprise data warehouse environment
  • 5+ years of experience with the SQL Server 2016 environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience with Business Intelligence, Kimball Modeling and/or elastic search is desired
If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of, and experience within, an Agile development environment
  • Knowledge of, and prior experience with Git, Python, and PowerShell
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Azure DevOps Server
  • Ability to write efficient SQL queries as well as demonstrated ability to interpret legacy scripts
  • Knowledge of, and prior experience with multi-dimensional data models
  • Demonstrated prior experience with SSIS
  • Knowledge of Kimball data warehouse methodology is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to reverse engineering existing logic of all kinds (queries, stored procedures, functions, Python, and C#)
  • Ability to write test plans and cases
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Experience with programming and software development, including Python, R, or other high-level language used in statistical computing
  • Quality Assurance Experience is a plus
