Job Summary


B&A is looking for a Database Developer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the United States Customs and Border Protection. We are looking for a talented and experienced Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, development, and management. As a Database Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust and scalable database systems to support our applications and business needs.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement database solutions to support various applications and business processes.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
  • Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, identifying and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Perform database maintenance tasks, such as backups, indexing, and updates.
  • Document database designs, configurations, and procedures for reference and training purposes.
  • Stay current with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree plus at least 3+ years of experience

Required Skills

  • Strong experience creating complex SQL in complex data environments
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and tuning SQL
  • Team-focused approach

Desired Skills

  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle and DB2 (or at least one of these)
  • Experience in government environment
    Experience in database administration

Security Clearance

  • Active CBP Clearance or DHS Top Secret Clearance.
