Job description

Need senior SQL-Server DBA to assist with development and implementation of SQL-Server consolidation strategy.

DBA to oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of mission-critical SQL Server environments โ€” on-premises and in the cloud. This position requires deep expertise in SQL Server 2022, Windows Server 2022, and a proactive mindset for automation and modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize large-scale SQL Server 2022 environments (on-prem, hybrid, and cloud).
  • Ensure HA/DR (High Availability / Disaster Recovery) using Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and backups.
  • Perform advanced performance tuning, index optimization, and query plan analysis.
  • Design and execute database migrations and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and SQL Agent Jobs and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support Azure SQL, Managed Instance, and hybrid deployments as needed.
  • Collaborate with application teams to design scalable and efficient database architectures.
  • Troubleshoot escalated database issues, including blocking, deadlocks, and resource contention.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, SOPs, and recovery plans.

Some programming experience, exposure to SSIS is good to have.

NOTE: This is not an operational level position.

Strong oral and written communication skills along with problem resolution skills is highly desirable. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as with cross-functional teams.
