Job description

Sell what you love. For us and millions of users across the globe, that's Spotify. Join the Sales team and you'll build the relationships that help grow our business in existing markets and beyond. We don't just sell creative solutions to our clients and partners, we help to shape them; using our expert knowledge of ad products, sales channels and the industry to impact the way the world experiences music and podcasts.

Spotify's US Agency Team delivers innovative strategic partnerships for our agency partners and their advertiser clients to build trust, drive business outcomes, and maximize long-term local market revenue. Our team sits at the intersection of media, technology, and commercial strategy, helping agency partners navigate the rapidly evolving future of advertising. The team partners closely with Trading, regional/local Sales, Business Marketing, Category Development, and of course, our senior-level partners at the Agencies and Brands. We are skilled cross-functional collaborators, strong communicators at the helm of agency and brand knowledge centers, and innovation drivers who operate with measurable results in mind.

We are looking for a highly motivated US Agency Development Lead to oversee the 1:1 strategic partnership with one of our major Agency partners. You will also support the development and implementation of scaled strategic Agency programs, in collaboration with our internal partner teams. You won't just build partnerships, you'll build and implement joint business plans and scaled initiatives that drive results.
What You'll Do
  • Oversee the symphony of internal and external partnership stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for Agency partnership teams
  • Identify new opportunities for revenue growth and build an action plan to drive this revenue growth accordingly
  • Own the development and implementation of the JBP priorities in collaboration with Trading, Sales, and various other cross-functional partners
  • Partner with Agency Trading, Investment, Activation, and Product teams to accelerate adoption of Spotify's automation, self-service, and programmatic buying solutions.
  • Strategically advise cross-functional partners on Agency needs to open new paths for revenue growth; identify gaps, opportunities and share successes
  • Serve as a strategic consultant on emerging areas including Ads Manager, programmatic, measurement, data collaboration, AI-enabled workflows, and evolving agency operating models.
  • Evangelize Spotify and Spotify Advertising initiatives with partnership stakeholders at the Agency with the aim of keeping them our most-informed partners
  • Expertly own internal and external partnership communications, including market updates, toolkits, partnership playbooks and reporting
  • Spearhead our internal community of cross-functional partners supporting these agencies and advertisers so we can maximize our efforts for complex projects
  • Project manage the execution of scalable programs including education programs, data/insights workstreams, tool management, and other innovation-driven programs across various other Agency Initiatives as identified by our team
  • Help inform future partnership development and innovation program initiatives as we continually grow and develop our team
Who You Are
  • You have 8+ years of experience driving revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and business development across media platforms, advertising technology, or related fields
  • Experience working with major Agency holding companies and/or platform-based media, advertising technology, programmatic, or digital advertising businesses is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of modern digital media buying ecosystems, including self-service advertising platforms, programmatic, ad tech, data-driven activation, and measurement solutions.
  • Strategic operator with a service mindset. Excited about helping others drive success
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness, which encourages positive energy and passion throughout the organization and with our external partners
  • Strong executive presence, confidently engaging key decision makers and C-level and mid-level executives, inside and outside of Spotify
  • Equally comfortable discussing commercial strategy with Agency executives and technical platform capabilities with Trading, Activation, Product, and Operations teams.
  • Comfortable with working through ambiguity, with an expert ability to navigate sophisticated, matrixed organizations, demonstrating their ability to influence others and build trust
  • Passion for developing and delivering high-impact presentations and leading education programs for large audiences
  • Comfortable discussing advertising technology, automation, measurement, data collaboration, and AI-driven workflows with both commercial and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising platforms, audience and measurement solutions, automation, programmatic buying, and data-driven activation, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for agency and advertiser stakeholders.
  • Success in this role requires a strong understanding of how modern advertising is bought, including automation, self-service platforms, programmatic activation, data-driven optimization, and emerging AI-enabled workflows. The ideal candidate views advertising through the lens of platforms, technology, automation, and data-driven activation and can help agencies evolve how they plan, buy, and optimize media in an increasingly automated ecosystem.
Where You'll Be
