Position Type: Part-time Internship

Internship Length: September 7, 2026 - December 18, 2026

This internship is a fixed-term position lasting 15 weeks, with a maximum of 15 hours per week. It does not guarantee extension or continued employment beyond the program. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program.

Based in New York and Nashville, mtheory offers artist managers a platform to build their businesses and enhance their artists' careers.

Our ideal Music Analytics Intern is curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about the intersection of music and data. This individual is eager to analyze streaming performance, audience growth metrics, and digital engagement trends to better understand how artists reach and grow their fanbases. An interest in using data to uncover insights and support strategic decision-making within the music industry is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Perform streaming analysis for artist campaigns using platforms such as Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, Chartmetric, Soundcharts, and more
  • Prepare music release and fan discovery reports for teams to support decision-making
  • Analyze listener behavior, playlist placements, and artist digital platform metrics to inform strategy and campaign planning
  • Monitor trends across digital platforms and music communities

Preferred Skills

  • Strong interest in the music industry, streaming analytics, and data-driven artist growth.
  • Familiarity with digital music and social media platforms
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data in Google Sheets or Excel
