Job description

Spotify transformed how the world listens. Now we're transforming how the world discovers. Every day, millions of people come to Spotify to find music, podcasts, and audiobooks they'll love. As our platform evolves, we're building experiences that help listeners discover more, engage more deeply, and build lasting relationships with the content they love.

The Personalization team makes deciding what to play next easier and more enjoyable for every listener. From Blend to Discover Weekly, we're behind some of Spotify's most-loved features. We built them by understanding the world of music and podcasts better than anyone else. Join us and you'll keep millions of users listening by making great recommendations to each and every one of them.

You'll join the Surfaces Studio within the Personalization Mission, where you'll help shape how listeners discover and deepen their engagement across Spotify. Working closely with teams across Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, Design, Research, and Data Science, you'll define the systems that help people build richer, more meaningful relationships with music, podcasts, audiobooks, and future experiences.

What You'll Do
  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for Engagement Journeys across Spotify's consumer experience.
  • Build intelligent engagement systems that help listeners naturally discover new formats, features, and devices based on meaningful behavioral signals.
  • Partner with Machine Learning and Data Science teams to develop models that identify user readiness, engagement opportunities, and long-term growth potential.
  • Translate advances in AI, machine learning, and agent technologies into intuitive product experiences that millions of listeners can easily understand and enjoy.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Research, and Data Science to rapidly prototype, experiment, learn, and deliver high-impact product improvements.
  • Influence the evolution of multiple Spotify surfaces and experiences so engagement journeys feel connected rather than fragmented.
  • Define how Spotify measures meaningful engagement, establishing frameworks that help teams prioritize sustainable listener value over short-term gains.
  • Make thoughtful product decisions using behavioral insights, experimentation, customer research, and data, even when operating with ambiguity.
  • Build alignment across senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives that span multiple organizations.
  • Balance innovation with user trust, quality, privacy, and long-term platform integrity.
Who You Are
  • You have 10+ years of product management experience building consumer products at significant global scale.
  • You have successfully delivered products that drive sustained engagement and long-term customer value, not simply acquisition or activation.
  • You have deep expertise in experimentation, behavioral analytics, product metrics, and data-informed decision making.
  • You know how to develop product strategy and align diverse stakeholders behind a shared vision.
  • You have experience influencing products that span multiple user experiences, platforms, or organizational boundaries.
  • You care deeply about product quality, user experience, and the details that create exceptional customer experiences.
  • You make thoughtful decisions in ambiguous environments, balancing data, customer needs, and business priorities.
  • You communicate clearly and build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, Design, Research, and Data Science.
  • You have experience working with personalization, recommender systems, or machine learning-powered products.
  • You bring curiosity about behavioral science, user motivation, or engagement research and enjoy applying those insights to product design.
  • You have experience building AI-powered or LLM-enabled consumer experiences, or you're excited by their potential to improve user experiences responsibly.
  • You enjoy exploring data, developing measurement frameworks, and continuously improving how product success is measured.
  • You're passionate about helping people discover, enjoy, and deepen their relationship with audio experiences.
Where You'll Be
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the North America region as long as we have a work location
  • This team operates within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration
The United States base range for this position is $182,308 - $260,441 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Spotify is an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what's playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking! So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background. It's in our differences that we will find the power to keep revolutionizing the way the world listens.

At Spotify, we are passionate about inclusivity and making sure our entire recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We have ways to request reasonable accommodations during the interview process and help assist in what you need. If you need accommodations at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know - we're here to support you in any way we can.

These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
