Job description

Zawyer Sports and Entertainment's Volunteer Inside Sales Program is a hands-on, career-launching experience designed for individuals looking to break into the sports business industry. Volunteers work alongside our sales staff to drive ticket revenue, build client relationships, and develop the skills needed to pursue a full-time career in sports sales.
This is not a passive internship - it's a front-line sales role built to produce results and develop talent.
Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls and send emails to prospective customers to sell individual game tickets, group outings, and season packages
  • Follow up on inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns and in-game promotions
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activity in CRM software
  • Build and manage a personal pipeline of prospects through research and networking
  • Participate in game-day sales and promotional activations at the ballpark/arena
  • Collaborate with the full-time sales team on group sales strategies and outreach campaigns
  • Meet weekly call and contact volume goals set by sales leadership

Program Structure
  • Schedule: Approximately 20-30 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends on game days
  • Duration: Minimum 6-month commitment; rolling start dates available
  • Location: TBD based on locations
  • Reporting: Reports directly to Ticket Sales Manager
  • Format: Structured daily training combined with live sales activity - you'll be making real calls from day one

Qualifications
Required

  • Strong verbal communication skills and a competitive, goal-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to make high volumes of outbound calls
  • Ability to handle rejection and persevere with a positive attitude
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and coachable

Preferred
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Familiarity with CRM tools Salesforce and Archtics
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or sports is a plus but not required
