What is a sports mental performance coach?

A Sports Mental Performance Coach is a professional who helps athletes and teams enhance their mental skills to improve performance, resilience, and overall well-being. They use psychological techniques and strategies to help individuals develop focus, confidence, stress management, and motivation. These coaches often work remotely, offering virtual sessions and resources to support clients around the world. Their goal is to optimize an athlete's mental approach to training and competition, complementing physical and technical preparation.

To overcome these hurdles, practitioners can leverage video conferencing tools to foster face-to-face interaction, employ interactive techniques to keep athletes engaged, and establish clear communication channels. Additionally, setting regular check-ins and creating a structured session plan can help maintain consistency and trust with clients.

Job description

JOIN THE WORLD LEADER IN LONGEVITY MEDICINE
People are done waiting to get sick before getting care. They want to understand their bodies, take control of how they feel, and actually invest in how long and how well they live. The system wasn't built for that. We are.
Over the next decade, more than one trillion dollars will shift away from traditional sick-care toward proactive, personalized health programs. Lifeforce is leading that shift as the world's largest longevity medicine program, and we're just getting started.
Founded alongside clinical and scientific leaders from Cleveland Clinic, Mass General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School, we bring together everything it takes to help people truly understand and optimize how their bodies are functioning now and decades to come. Comprehensive diagnostics, hands-on clinical experts, certified health coaches, and customized supplement, pharmaceutical, and lifestyle protocols. All from home. At the price of a gym membership.
We are hiring Physicians and NPs with a passion for using leading-edge medical practices, developing personalized care plans, and creating a best-in-class member experience to help people improve their health and optimize physical and mental performance.
As a Lifeforce Clinician, you will work alongside our Health Coaches to provide care to our members that includes hormone optimization, weight loss management, cardiometabolic treatments, supplements and lifestyle strategies. This position represents an amazing opportunity for forward-thinking doctors with an interest in functional medicine and hormone optimization, and who are eager to learn and grow their own skill set while delivering a best-in-class member experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leading-edge approaches to diagnostic test interpretation and lifestyle recommendations
  • Provide Hormone Optimization Therapy (HOT), weight loss management, and peptides when appropriate
  • Develop a deep understanding of our proprietary supplements offerings to comfortably explain and recommend when appropriate
  • Be able to balance efficiency with thoroughness to effectively complete both synchronous visits and asynchronous tasks in a timely manner without sacrificing quality
  • Be willing and able to use evolving technologies needed to deliver care as well as communicate both with members and internally
  • Leverage strong verbal and written communication skills and being excited to continue to develop these skills as needed to improve member outcomes
  • Put the outcome and experience of the member at the forefront of your care while never compromising the use of safe, Lifeforce-approved medical protocols
  • Have genuine interest in our members, being empathetic to their concerns and meeting them where they're at
  • Be able to meet quality and productivity standards that will be clearly communicated to you and reviewed regularly with your manager

You will love this job if:
  • You are dedicated to improving members' quality of life by providing above-and-beyond, personalized, patient-centered care.
  • You are passionate about performance optimization, nutrition, health, and wellness.
  • You are dedicated to using safe, research-backed protocols, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals.
  • You have a growth mindset in medicine and are willing and eager to learn new approaches.
  • You want to be able to work remotely while still providing stellar care and making an impact on member's lives.
  • You enjoy working in a fluid, start-up environment and are invigorated by being a part of something new, even if it means frequent changes for the better.
  • You value collaboration and feedback, both receiving and sharing, in an effort to continuously improve our care, products, and technology.
  • You have a positive attitude and are willing and able to adapt if something doesn't go according to plan.
  • You have a strong sense of self-accountability, and you know you'll be able to deliver on agreed-upon commitments.
  • You are very organized, on time, and always present yourself in a professional manner.

Qualifications
  • Board-certified M.D. or D.O. (preferred) or Autonomous NP
  • Active, unrestricted licenses and at least one DEA # to practice medicine in multiple states
    • Priority DEA States: TN, IL, MI
    • Priority License States: CA, CO, TX, FL, IL, MA, TN, WI, NC
  • Interest in a fully-remote, 1099 contractor role
  • Available to work at least 20 hours per week consistently
  • Strong knowledge and/or interest in functionally-minded approaches to care
  • Expertise in or willingness to learn HOT (Hormone Optimization Therapy) and comfortable using both supplements and approved pharmaceuticals when appropriate in both men and women
  • Expertise in or willingness to learn about medical weight loss therapies and peptides
  • Able to quickly acquire proficiency with necessary technology, including computers, software applications, phone systems, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a team environment with the ability to excel in a fast-paced atmosphere and successfully collaborate with diverse groups at all levels of the organization
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

What we offer:
  • Part-time or full-time role (20-40 hours/week)
  • Paid training
  • Malpractice Insurance
