Job Summary:

As a Sports & Recreation Coordinator, you will support the planning and execution of leagues, events, and on-campus sports facilities. In this role, you will foster community engagement, assist with daily operations, and help create memorable experiences while ensuring user satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily operations of the Sports & Recreation department, ensuring smooth and efficient program delivery.

  • Promote programs, leagues, and events through appropriate communication channels to drive participation and engagement

  • Organize and coordinate leagues, tournaments, and events, contributing to a high standard of user satisfaction.

  • Coordinate with internal departments, client contacts, vendors, and community partners as needed to support programs and events.

  • Manage and update field schedules, monitor facility usage, and facilitate roster signups.

  • Track and maintain sports equipment and facilities to ensure they are in excellent condition.

  • Provide exceptional customer service through positive, daily interactions with users to enhance their experiences.

  • Align program activities with client goals and departmental strategies to support success.

  • Collect user feedback, monitor program participation, and assist in implementing improvements.

  • Follow established safety, risk management, and facility policies, and appropriately document and report incidents or concerns

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.

  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications

  • 1+ years of experience in sports management, recreation operations, intramural activities, or customer service (internships included).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent tools.

  • Enthusiasm for sports and recreation, with a passion for fostering community and delivering outstanding user experiences.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an outgoing personality and a focus on customer service excellence.

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
