Now, we're looking for a Sports Designer/Copy Editor to take our sports presence to the next level.

Responsibilities:
โ€ข Daily, create visually compelling pages for the print sports section, using Methode publishing system and InDesign
โ€ข Create graphics, utilize photos, and other design elements to improve storytelling on sports pages
โ€ข Edit and proofread sports articles - game stories, features, columns, breaking news - for grammar, punctuation, spelling and style.
โ€ข Write accurate and entertaining headlines that capture the NY Post voice.
โ€ข Stay updated with design trends and share new ideas.
Requirements:
โ€ข 4+ years of experience in print media (at least 2 years in sports).
โ€ข Strong layout/design skills
โ€ข Proficient in InDesign and ability to also work with Methode publishing platform
โ€ข Keen eye for detail to ensure error-free and polished designs and pages.
โ€ข Stellar editing chops, including a nose for news and a practiced copy-editing eye
โ€ข Proven ability to write accurate, attention-grabbing headlines.
โ€ข Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
โ€ข A willingness to work hard, be proactive and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
โ€ข Keen interest and knowledge of sports, particularly around the New York teams.
โ€ข Must be able to work nights and weekends
Note: The NY Post adheres to an on-site work model. The shift schedule for this role will be 4 p.m.-12 a.m. EST and will be expected to work one weekend day.

Base Pay Range: 75,000 - 85,000

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
