STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Coordinator will assist in the implementation of a marketing campaign plan including digital, print, grassroots, trade shows/conferences, familiarity visits, regional event relationship building, and more. They will be evaluated based on KPIs set by the corporate marketing team, including a number of visitors and program and event attendees, and digital presence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Creates traffic building promotions, and stages all major events, contests, promotions
  • Plans, promotes, and executes special events
  • Coordinate outside PR
  • Create and distribute banquet and event promotional packages
  • Executes the marketing plan and marketing campaigns as directed from the SFM home office
  • Directs the graphics team in creating in-house flyers, invitations, print ads, posters, e-mail marketing, website content
  • Evaluated based on specific campaigns, and overall business tempo in membership, events, sports
  • In-house merchandising
  • Actively participates in other operational functions as necessary, including but not limited to event setup and execution, attending scheduled events and meetings, assisting other departments during outside or special events, etc.
  • Assist in managing Front Desk operations, customer service culture, and checklists as needed
  • Serve as MOD on weekends or during events
  • All other duties as assigned by management

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • Proven success in generating awareness through consumer marketing
  • Experience in youth and amateur sports as a consumer, marketing professional, or other relevant experience
  • Experience and success in promoting, booking, and delivering special events
  • Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency
  • Prior experience in marketing research to gain consumer insights (locally, regionally, and nationally)
  • Management of website(s) in the WordPress platform

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing marketing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
  • Has general ability in graphic design and advertising, including work with Adobe CS suite software. Does not need to be an illustrator, but page layout, a design eye, and the ability to create marketing pieces within brand guidelines is essential. Portfolio will be requested
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; assisting in preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Accomplishes objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs
  • Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Management of a marketing and/or business development budget
  • Experience in managing business accounts on a variety of social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or advertising; or a minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar position
  • Technologically savvy with skills in using multiple platforms or software for a variety of tasks such as cloud file management or project management
  • Advanced knowledge in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skilled at identifying and creating opportunities or promotions to deliver revenue goals
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer
  • Facility has intermittent loud noise levels
