Location: New York / New Jersey / Philadelphia

Position Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth throughout the

territory by supporting manufacturer representative agencies, strengthening distributor

relationships, and expanding specification opportunities within the Architectural and Lighting

Design market. This role serves as a key resource for agency partners, distributors, contractors,

architects, and designers while promoting the company's products and developing new

business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Agency Support

• Work closely with manufacturer representative agencies to support sales initiatives

throughout the territory.

• Participate in joint sales calls, customer visits, and project meetings.

• Assist with product presentations, training sessions, and customer education.

• Provide timely product information, pricing assistance, and technical support.

• Communicate new product introductions, company updates, and promotional initiatives.

• Coordinate and track customer presentations and follow-up activities.

Distributor Development

• Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical distributors and lighting

showrooms.

• Conduct regular visits to distributor locations to promote products and support sales

efforts.

• Assist distributor sales teams with product recommendations, quotations, and project

opportunities.

• Deliver product training and educational presentations.

• Identify opportunities to increase sales, market share, and product visibility within

distributor accounts.

• Gather customer feedback and communicate market insights to management.

Specification Sales

• Develop relationships with architects and lighting designers.

• Conduct product presentations and educational meetings with design professionals.

• Provide technical product support and application guidance.

• Maintain awareness of active projects and upcoming opportunities within the territory.

Territory Management

• Maintain an active schedule of customer visits, presentations, and project follow-up.

• Track sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions through CRM systems.

• Monitor competitive activity and market trends.

• Provide regular updates on sales activity, project pipelines, and market feedback.

• Travel throughout the assigned territory as required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in outside sales, Lighting, Electrical Distribution, or specification

sales preferred.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
