POSITION
The Specialty Leasing Manager will be primarily responsible for the specialty leasing program to achieve the propertyโ€™s specialty leasing income and occupancy goals for a dominant in-fill urban retail center.ย  The successful candidate will have worked in a principal and / or brokerage environment sourcing and closing short term retail tenants.
The role is highly visible, both internally and externally, requiring skills and experience in leadership, management, and communication.ย ย ย ย

RESPONSIBILITIES
ย 
  • Identify new and unique prospects for the specialty leasing program and/or permanent leasing.
  • Ensure that specialty leasing retailers and amenities enhance the appearance and values of the property.
  • Generate alternative revenue through ancillary income opportunities, including advertising and sponsorships.
  • Prepare all license documents coordinating the execution of agreements with the general manager and licensees.
  • Establish an on-going partnership with licensees to maximize individual store sales through a retailer communication / sales program.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to ensure ongoing exposure of the specialty leasing program in the propertyโ€™s marketing efforts.
  • Requiring limited travel, managing the leasing process of other retail properties (depending upon candidatesโ€™ qualifications and experience).
  • Responsible for analyzing and presenting lease economics for deals being proposed.
  • Negotiating Letters of Intent.
  • Ensuring the success of a full cycle leasing process including turn-over and ensuring compliance with all requirements of the lease documents.
  • Develop relationships with civic and community groups conducive to sourcing opportunities.
  • Attend select conferences and industry events.
  • Perform routine property inspections to ensure property and vacant suites are show-ready.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with our existing tenants and develop relationships as potential specialty tenants.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS
ย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, business administration, or related field with a strong record of academic achievement.
  • The candidate will likely have had a minimum of 5 years of commercial real estate leasing experience, with a focus on pop-ups, kiosks, specialty leasing, and short-term retail, and/or related experience with a strong background in urban retail centers.
  • Possesses existing tenant relationships from which to draw upon.
  • Basic understanding of design and construction process.
  • Experienced in Yardi, MS Office 365 (MS Teams & other applications), and MS Excel.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple and concurrent projects to achieve goals.
  • Comfortable in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 20% Travel.

COMPENSATION
$75K - $125K
