Department: Special Projects Date: 2026
Reports to: Construction Manager - NoCO Location: Loveland, CO
Wage Range: $90,000-$130,000 + annual bonus incentive

Job Summary
A Project Manager, Special Projects (PM/SP) has an entrepreneurial spirit and able to work independently as well as within a team atmosphere. The Special Projects team is involved in projects from inception through completion and responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, project procurement, leading project design, and project management. This level of ownership in the pursuit/project life cycle deepens the client experience & internal relationships. The PM/SP will coordinate all aspects of a project with the owner, GC, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field managers/craftsmen to lead the team to a successful project completion.
This position will work out of the Loveland, CO office and focus solely on the Northern Colorado market.
A successful candidate will be responsible for:
General
  • Being part of MTech's culture and promotion of MTech values within the company, industry, and community.
  • Being a valuable participant in MTech's and Special Projects' continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Working with MTech internal support groups and external clients.
  • Ability to be flexible and successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Preconstruction and project management as described below.

Preconstruction
  • Development of new clients and maintain customer relationships (GC and end user).
  • Meeting with clients to understand projects and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Preparing conceptual budgets based upon preliminary project information.
  • Preparation of project Estimate and/or working with MTech's estimating team to develop estimate.
  • Preparation of detailed sales proposals and presenting to clients.
  • Leading the design/build project phase with MTech's engineering team.
  • Attending and participating in project team design meetings.
  • Trending project costs and scope.
  • Identification of alternative methods and project betterments to improve cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Reviewing design documents for proper scope, design, and constructability.
  • Establishing and meeting sales goals in alignment with overall company goals

Project Management
  • Maintaining customer relationships (GC and end user)
  • Working with project team to develop solutions to issues that arise during construction process.
  • Leading MTech and project team to a successful project completion.
  • Leading project team on mechanical prime projects.
  • Set project goals with project team...short and long term.
  • Preparing, managing, and updating project schedules
  • Project budget and cost understanding, management, and updating.
  • Subcontractor coordination.
  • Leading BIM where on projects where applicable
  • Implementation and utilization of MTech project management procedures, including use of Procore
  • Effective communication of project information to the project field managers.
  • Construction site visits to review project progress, maintain quality, be involved in solution development, and prepare/review punch lists.
  • Safety management and promotion of MTech's safety culture
  • Understanding and communicating man-power requirements.
  • Understanding and forecasting project revenue and margin expectations.
  • Contract review and understanding on assigned projects
  • Procurement of equipment and materials in conjunction with MTech purchasing group.
  • Equipment and subcontractor submittal preparation, review, approval process.
  • Invoice approval and A/R collection on assigned projects
  • Project closeout documents, coordination of owner training, and management of warranty period.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Strong experience with mechanical conceptual design, estimating, and construction operations with a minimum of 5 years of experience in these areas
  • Effective time management, organizational, and people skills are required for success in this position.
  • Experience in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming markets, a plus
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Must be approved to drive per MTech's driving standards
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, MS Outlook, and Bluebeam/Adobe PDF
