Job description

Summary

Dimensional Innovations is seeking a multidisciplinary Experiential Designer to help create immersive, story-driven environments that connect people to place. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, spatial design, and storytelling—focused on shaping physical experiences rather than traditional buildings.

You’ll work alongside strategists, fabricators, technologists, and project teams to translate ideas into compelling spatial concepts, from early sketches through design development.

What You'll Do

  • Develop spatial design concepts for branded environments, exhibits, and experiential installations
  • Translate ideas into clear visual narratives through sketches, diagrams, and presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve concepts into buildable solutions
  • Explore form, scale, proportion, and human experience in physical space
  • Create iterative design studies and participate in critiques and design reviews
  • Support design development with an understanding of materials, fabrication, and construction constraints
  • Contribute to storytelling through environmental graphics, layout, and spatial sequencing
  • Participate in client presentations and communicate design intent clearly

Core Skills We're Looking For

  • Strong spatial thinking and ability to design in 3D
  • Solid grasp of scale, proportion, and human-centered design
  • Ability to move from concept to iteration to refined solution
  • Proficiency in sketching (hand and/or digital) to communicate ideas quickly
  • Experience with design storytelling and narrative development
  • Working knowledge of materials and how things get built
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and collaborating across disciplines

Tools & Methods

  • 3D modeling tools (Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, or similar)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Rendering tools (Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or equivalent)
  • Physical or digital prototyping workflows

Nice to Have

  • Background in architecture, interior design, industrial design, or similar
  • Experience in experiential design, exhibitions, or themed environments
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes or shop drawings
  • Motion, interactive, or media integration awareness

What Success Looks Like

  • You generate clear, compelling spatial ideas that others can build on
  • You communicate concepts in a way that aligns teams and excites clients
  • You balance creativity with real-world constraints
  • You contribute to projects that feel intentional, immersive, and human-centered
