To thrive as a Full Time Spatial Designer, you need a solid background in design principles, spatial planning, and a relevant degree such as interior design, architecture, or environmental design. Proficiency in CAD software, 3D modeling tools like SketchUp or Revit, and knowledge of building codes are typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help set top spatial designers apart. These abilities ensure the creation of functional, aesthetically pleasing spaces that meet client needs and comply with technical standards.

How does a Full Time Spatial Designer typically collaborate with other departments during a project?

Full Time Spatial Designers often work closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure that spatial layouts are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Collaboration usually involves regular meetings to align on project goals, sharing design drafts, and integrating feedback from various stakeholders. This cross-functional teamwork helps address challenges such as budget constraints, technical feasibility, and client requirements. By working together, the team can deliver cohesive and innovative spatial solutions that meet both practical needs and creative visions.

Job description

Hi! We are Manyone.

For our Manyone New York City team in Brooklyn, we're looking for a creative and technically skilled Experiential Designer to join our team. You'll be responsible for conceptualizing and designing branded environments across retail spaces, exhibitions, event environments, conference booths, corporate offices, and brand activations.

This role requires someone who can seamlessly blend strategic brand thinking with experience design and strong spatial execution, from early concepts through detailed design, fabrication, and on-site realization. You'll be involved all the way through to furniture specification, vendor coordination, and guiding production and construction teams.

Some international travel will be required, especially during key build phases and final installations.

What you'll do

Transform brands into physical experiences by designing engaging environments that connect with audiences through both spatial design and interactive touchpoints.

You'll work across the full design process, from early strategy and concept development through design detailing, fabrication coordination, and installation oversight.

Your work will span retail environments, exhibitions, and branded spaces, balancing aesthetic impact with real-world considerations such as visitor flow, dwell time, interaction points, budget constraints, and technical feasibility.

Who you are and what you'll bring

Required Experience:

  • 3-7 years of professional experience (agency preferred) designing spatial environments such as retail spaces, corporate events, conference booths, or brand activations
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating successful projects across multiple space types

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in 3D design tools (SketchUp, Enscape)
  • Solid understanding of floor plans, blueprints, and CAD drawings
  • Experience with rendering software to create compelling client presentations
  • Ability to produce construction-ready documentation of design intent

Design Expertise:

  • Solid understanding of how to translate brand identity into physical environments
  • Knowledge of interior design principles including materials, finishes, lighting, and color theory
  • Experience integrating digital elements (screens, interactive displays, AR/VR) with physical design
  • Understanding of spatial planning, circulation, and user experience within environments

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills to present concepts to clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, and installation processes
  • Understanding of budgets and vendor management is a plus
  • Ideally, you're located within 1 hour of Brooklyn, NY

Why join Manyone?

  • Work from home 2-3 days a week
  • Life insurance and health benefits package
  • Truly international work environment with the opportunity to work across teams and cultures
  • Continual learning and development opportunities
  • Salary range: $120 - 140K / year

Interested?

Please submit your resume along with a portfolio showcasing relevant spatial design projects. We're particularly interested in seeing work that demonstrates your ability to create cohesive branded environments and integrate digital and physical experiences.
