We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality atย Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Spa Supervisor.

Responsibilities

The Spa Supervisor, guided by the Spa & Recreation Manager and Spa Director, will establish and maintain the standards of the Spa, Salon, and Fairmont Fitness facilities. This includes ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and operational efficiency in all areas. The supervisor will oversee daily operations and work closely with engineering on facility concerns to ensure smooth functioning of the spa, salon, and fitness center.

  • Oversee daily operations of the spa, salon, and fitness center facilities with a strong focus on maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering to address daily facility concerns, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Maintain inventory levels and manage guest supply orders to ensure adequate stock for the spa, salon, and fitness facilities. Submit orders for Guest Supplies when necessary.
  • Schedule spa attendants and gym attendants to ensure proper coverage, adhering to labor standards and efficiency. In cases where labor standards impact staffing levels, complete daily cleaning and maintenance duties as needed to maintain facility standards.
  • Implement and uphold standard operating procedures for both spa and fitness facilities to encourage best practices and operational efficiencies.
  • Supervise spa attendant staff and operational areas to ensure maximum yield and labor efficiency.
  • Assist the Spa Director with maintaining high standards for spa attendants and locker room operations.
  • Monitor and manage spa linen inventory, communicating with key departments to ensure availability and efficient use.
  • Maintain warranties and service agreements on all operating equipment and coordinate with engineering for repairs and upkeep.
  • Maintain updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product information for all products used within the spa, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper staff training.
  • Perform guest supply inventory bi-weekly, processing purchase orders as needed to maintain supply levels.
  • Ensure all areas of the spa and fitness facilities are cleaned and maintained throughout the day, following the "clean as you go" approach.
  • Handle emergency situations with urgency and discretion, ensuring guest and staff safety.
  • Perform opening and closing MOD (Manager on Duty) shifts.
  • Assign job tasks to spa personnel, ensuring they align with their position and ability.
  • Ensure that all areas of the spa, salon, and fitness facilities are set according to the standard operating manual.
  • Enter daily work orders for items that need attention from the resort engineering team
  • Perform weekly spa walkthroughs with resort engineering team to ensure all work order requests are being complete.
  • Other duties as assigned by Spa & Recreation Manager and Spa Director.
Qualifications

Previous experience in a Spa or Hospitality environment preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Adherence to Fairmont Grand Del Mar Grooming Guidelines.

Wage Information

The hourly rate for this position is $22.14
