  • Company work gear: 10 t-shirts and a hoodie provided at no cost Job summary At Northeast Precast, the Gate House Attendant or Access Control Attendant is responsible for controlling access to the facility by verifying credentials for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel. This role ensures that only authorized individuals and vehicles are permitted entry while maintaining accurate records of all traffic. The attendant serves as the first point of contact at the facility, providing courteous assistance and clear communication to drivers, guests, and staff. In addition, the Gate House Attendant coordinates delivery notifications with the appropriate internal team members, supports safety and security protocols, and promptly reports any incidents or irregularities. Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Control and monitor facility access points, ensuring that employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles have the proper identification and authorization.
  • Strictly enforce facility policies and procedures to maintain safety, security, and order at the gate.
  • Verify and log deliveries, coordinating with the appropriate internal team members to ensure timely communication and processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing traffic, including visitors, vehicles, and shipments.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to disturbances, safety concerns, or emergency situations, escalating when necessary.
  • Provide clear directions and assistance to employees, drivers, and visitors while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Report and document incidents, unusual activity, or violations in detailed logs or reports.
  • Inspect and monitor guardhouse equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong ability to verify credentials and monitor surroundings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, visitors, and delivery personnel, as well as completing accurate logs.
  • Courteous, reliable, and consistent in upholding security and facility standards.
  • Ability to assess stressful situations quickly and determine the best course of action.
  • Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods and responding quickly to immediate needs at the gate.
  • Comfortable using computer systems, access control tools, and communication devices (Basic computer skills preferred)
  • Criminal Background Check is Required.
  • Security Guard- Gate Attendant shifts are as followed (Including Weekends amp; Holidays)
    • 1st shift: 7:00AM – 3:00PM
    • 2nd shift 3:00PM – 11:00PM
    • 3rd shift 11:00PM – 7:00AM
  • Must be an active SORA level I/II license holder prior to start date.
  • Bilingual Preferred
WHAT ARE THE SORA REQUIREMENTS?
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. Must posses a valid photo ID with valid expiration date, i.e. Driver’s License, Passport, etc.
  3. Must register for and obtain a valid NJ State Police Issued Application ID Number. This Application ID Number is available via the New Jersey State Police website (https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do). You must pay for the Application ID Number at the time of application with a Credit/Debit card.
  4. Must also be fingerprinted by the state licensed agency (IdentoGo)
  5. Must successfully complete a NJ State Police Licensed SORA Training Class, which is the class you are applying for from NJ Guard Training Academy.
  6. The Application ID Number, issued by the NJ State Police, will expire 30-days from the date issued. You only have 30 days to complete the SORA Training Process, including your SORA Class amp; Fingerprinting. It is recommended that you schedule your class first, and then apply for the Application ID Number with the NJSP a few days before the actual class date. This will maximize the amount of time you have available to complete the other steps in the process.
  7. SORA has very strict guidelines when it comes to credentials and proof of identity
  8. SORA training is a 3-step process to be completed within a 30-day period. These steps currently include registration with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), completion of a 24-hour training program with an NJSP-certified instructor, and fingerprint collection; all of which must be paid for by the applicant and completed by hire date
