Job Summary:
Sony Interactive Entertainment is the company behind the PlayStation brand, known for its innovation and excellence in technology. The role involves leading a high-impact team within the Client Developer Experience team, focusing on the development of platforms and tools that enhance the software development process for PlayStation.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead, grow, and mentor a team of engineers, building a high-performing, ownership driven culture
โ€ข Drive delivery of developer platforms and tools used across PlayStation
โ€ข Provide technical leadership at both code and system design levels, especially for frontend and developer-facing systems
โ€ข Guide the design and evolution of complex, scalable systems across frontend, backend, and platform layers
โ€ข Partner with AI/ML, QE, System Software, and Product teams to align on priorities and execution
โ€ข Influence cross-team technical decisions and ensure strong alignment across partner organizations
โ€ข Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform strategy
โ€ข Ensure high-quality developer experiences by focusing on usability, performance, and reliability
โ€ข Identify gaps, remove blockers, and drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 7โ€“10 years of overall software engineering experience with 3โ€“5+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
โ€ข Strong technical background with hands-on understanding of frontend systems (JavaScript, React, React Native) and solid backend/platform fundamentals
โ€ข Ability to operate at code-level depth when needed (design reviews, debugging, guiding engineers)
โ€ข Proven experience designing and delivering complex, distributed systems
โ€ข Track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
โ€ข Experience working on developer tools, internal platforms, or productivity systems
โ€ข Strong ability to influence and align stakeholders across teams
โ€ข Excellent communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences
โ€ข Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
โ€ข Bachelors degree or equivalent
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with Python or backend services supporting developer platforms
โ€ข Experience with AI/ML-driven workflows or developer tooling
โ€ข Background in performance profiling and or developer ecosystems
โ€ข Experience in large-scale, multi-team environments
