Job description

About the Role:
A Space for Us Counseling is expanding into an integrated wellness center focused on whole-person healing. Our approach brings together neuroscience-informed care, holistic wellness, somatic practices, and trauma-responsive support.
We believe healing involves more than the mind alone. Our work honors the connection between the brain, body, nervous system, relationships, identity, and lived experience. We are creating a collaborative environment where clients can feel safe, seen, supported, and empowered.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized somatic therapy sessions using body-centered modalities to support client healing
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans integrating somatic and trauma-informed approaches
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and session notes
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary counseling team to ensure holistic client care
  • Facilitate a safe, grounded, and supportive therapeutic space for diverse populations
  • Stay current with somatic therapy research, techniques, and continuing education
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and supervision as required
Requirements:
  • Training and certification in somatic therapy, somatic experiencing, or related body-centered modality
  • Experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, or nervous system dysregulation
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive therapeutic practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • Relevant licensure or certification in counseling, social work, or a related mental health field preferred
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards in all client interactions
  • Comfortable working within a collaborative, inclusive, and community-focused practice
  • Licensed mental health professionals with advanced training in somatic psychotherapy are also encouraged to apply.
