Job description

About the Team & Opportunity

Clever is looking for a Senior Integrations Engineer to join our newly formed Integration Engineering team and serve as the technical architect for our most critical system connections. You'll be joining a small, high-impact team where your contributions are immediately visible and your voice helps shape how we work. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and customer success, designing and implementing integrations that link Clever to the essential systems schools rely on. You won't just be building connectors; you'll be defining the technical standards for secure data transfer and helping evolve Clever's platform through direct customer feedback and expert-level execution.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • The problem you'll solve: You'll lead the end-to-end technical delivery of high-profile integrations, building the "connectors" that allow Clever to talk to a school's most critical systems with high reliability and security.
  • Who you'll partner with: You will act as the technical bridge between school IT leaders and Clever's internal Product and Engineering teams, gathering requirements and translating them into custom solutions.
  • What success looks like: Success is measured by the seamless deployment of data pipelines, high-quality technical documentation (like SOWs and integration guides), and achieving high platform stability for the districts you support.
  • Key projects you'll lead: You'll design and implement custom integrations using JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL, lead technical discovery workshops with strategic partners, and help to develop the documentation for this team's workflows.
What We're Looking ForRequired Skills & Experience (Must-Haves):
  • 4+ years of total experience in ETL Engineering, Integration Engineering, or Software Engineering roles.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL. You are comfortable building and maintaining custom integrations and data pipelines.
  • Customer-Facing Experience: Proven ability to work directly with external partners or clients to gather technical requirements, present solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Implementation & Architecture: Experience building API integrations, managing data imports/exports, and designing technical solutions for complex data flows.
  • Problem Solving: A reliable team player who is skilled at breaking down complex problems and finding practical, scalable solutions.
  • Builder's Mindset: You are energized by ambiguity and the opportunity to help shape how an emerging team operates. You thrive when building alongside others, enjoy co-owning work with peers, and are as comfortable defining the path as you are executing on it.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
  • Deep expertise in the EdTech, K-12 sector, or Enterprise data industry.
  • Experience with ETL processes and analytics platforms commonly used in K-12 (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible PTO and Paid Parental Leave
  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage
  • Mental healthcare services
  • Professional development budget
  • Annual company retreat + team events
