Nokian Tyres is a Finnish company that as the first in the world invented the winter tire in 1934. We continue to drive innovation and develop our premium technology from Nokia, where we are rooted. Today, operating in over 60 countries across the world, we are looking for experienced professionals and future talents to join us.

We are looking for a Solution Design Owner

As a Solution Design Owner, you will play an important role in shaping and developing our infrastructure solutions in a global manufacturing environment. In this role, you will ensure that server, datacenter, storage, backup, and virtualization related services are designed to be reliable, scalable, supportable, and aligned with business needs.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, factory and automation interfaces, external partners, and the Cloud Solution Owner to ensure our solutions work effectively in hybrid environments. The role combines technical design ownership with practical collaboration, documentation, and continuous improvement across a global landscape.

You will report to the IT Infrastructure Solution Owner and work in a global role with collaboration across regions and functions. The position includes some travel. You will also work closely with vendors and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) to guide technical planning and implementation, while ensuring high‑quality designs, good supportability, and smooth handovers into operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop infrastructure solutions across server, datacenter, storage, backup, and virtualization environments
  • Support capacity planning and solution design to ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure services
  • Work closely with factory, automation, and TCS interfaces to ensure solutions meet manufacturing and IT/OT requirements
  • Guide vendors and external partners in technical planning, implementation, and prioritization
  • Ensure designs address backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, resilience, and other key non‑functional requirements
  • Maintain and develop design and technical documentation throughout the solution lifecycle
  • Support demand and change initiatives by providing design impact assessments and helping prioritize design related activities
  • Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for design related operational issues together with operations teams and partners
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Solution Owner to ensure infrastructure solutions fit well in hybrid environments

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in infrastructure solution design in a global enterprise environment
  • Strong knowledge of server and datacenter management and design, including capacity planning
  • Experience with storage, backup, and disaster recovery planning; Veeam expertise is an advantage
  • Good understanding of VMware, Citrix, Windows Server, and Active Directory related infrastructure such as SCCM, DHCP, DNS, and PKI
  • Understanding of hybrid environments and the ability to work effectively with cloud related stakeholders; infrastructure monitoring knowledge is expected
  • Understanding of Windows SQL is an advantage, and basic Linux knowledge is considered a plus
  • Basic knowledge of networking and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and security
  • Experience working in IT/OT or factory manufacturing environments
  • Experience in vendor management and working with external partners such as TCS
  • Strong prioritization, documentation, and coordination skills
  • Understanding of energy efficiency and cooling systems in datacenters is seen as a benefit

What will help you succeed:

  • A structured and solution‑oriented way of working
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across different stakeholders and cultures
  • A practical and hands‑on approach to technical problem‑solving
  • Good planning, prioritization, and documentation skills
  • Comfort working in a global environment with internal teams and external partners

Our way of working

Our talented people, energizing collaboration, and agile way of working ensure that we achieve great results together. We believe in involvement and active ownership. Nokian Tyres wants everyone to have both the power and the opportunity to influence matters and we support your professional growth. We value different experiences and competencies. They play a key role in the development of the company as well as our new, innovative solutions.
