Overview

Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) at Appian is responsible for ensuring customers achieve remarkable business results through technology engagements and for driving customer growth with expert guidance, advisory, and relationship building.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver innovative solutions built on the Appian platform, overseeing all aspects of agile delivery.
  • Manage risk and remove impediments throughout delivery projects.
  • Collaborate closely with front‑line sales reps and partner teams to drive growth in strategic accounts and integrated deals.
  • Lead project and account management, including relationship building, financial management, opportunity qualification, problem identification, and project/use‑case definition.
  • Generate demand, position services, and develop account strategy in partnership with Customer Success Managers, Sales, and Partnerships.
Qualifications
  • Experience managing a book of business using financial management tools and metrics.
  • Proven track record leading agile delivery teams and managing enterprise‑scale technology programs, collaborating with architects and product designers.
  • Deep understanding of customers’ strategic goals and ability to position technology to meet those goals, including developing application roadmaps and business cases.
  • Knowledge of one or more value selling methods and ability to create compelling business benefits for proposals and delivery.
  • Strong strategic relationship‑building skills with stakeholders, buyers, and influencers.
  • Intellectual curiosity, bias for action, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in software consulting (ERP, CRM, BPM/Workflow, Data Integration, or Enterprise Architecture) and/or applied knowledge of enterprise architecture and data management (preferred).
  • Proficiency in maintaining a government‑level security clearance and a proven background supporting DoD contracts (preferably Army, Navy, or USAF).
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in an agile delivery environment with at least 1 year of senior team‑lead responsibility.
  • B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel no more than 10% of the time annually to support customer engagements.
Travel

10% or less of the year is expected for on‑site customer visits.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range $125,000 – $250,000; eligibility for a government clearance differential and discretionary bonus. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with company match, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, paid parental leave, flexible time off, life and disability insurance, wellness programs, employee assistance, and learning resources. Certain positions may also be eligible for equity awards.
