Your Impact
The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites near Becker, Minnesota. The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism. These are local sites-candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Becker, Minnesota areas.
Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment.
  • Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
  • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
  • Testing/troubleshooting installed solar equipment and ensuring proper working order.
  • Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Able work in a solo as well as a group environment.
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
  • 2+ years' experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants is preferred.
  • Preventative Maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment is preferred.
  • Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
  • Specific solar experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.) is preferred.
  • Takes initiative to escalate issues at site.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into Apprentices.
  • High aptitude and a strong work ethic are a must.

Physical/Work Environment
At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
  • Must live within approximately 50 miles of the Becker, Minnesota areas.
  • Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
  • Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on call" service availability via telephone/text message.
  • Travel requirements dependent on support of the company (up to 25% travel).

Compensation: $30.00-$42.00 hourly/DOE
