As a solar energy technician, also known as a solar photovoltaic (PV) installer, your responsibilities focus on installing, fixing, and maintaining solar energy systems that provide solar power. As part of your duties, you take measurements to install each solar panel, cut panels to fit, perform tests, troubleshoot and fix issues, and maintain installed solar panels as needed. You also meet with clients to discuss their needs for a solar energy system, explain the installation and maintenance process, and follow up with them to ensure that their system works properly. You may install solar panels on homes or commercial buildings and parking rooftops.
