Line Cook
The Soho Diner located in the Soho Grand Hotel is looking for an experienced Full-Time Line Cook with open availability to work PM's as part of the culinary team. The Soho Diner is an elevated American diner that pays homage to the neighborhood’s rich history by blending the simple pleasures of a New York five-and-dime with the spirit of the city’s current dining scene. Soho Diner offers an all-day menu of American classics, along with cocktails, natural wines, and restorative, non-alcoholic beverages. We employ a close-knit group of natural-born entertainers, supreme go-getters and masters of hospitality. Candidates must love food and beverage, good music and being around some of the most interesting people in New York City on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include:
• Daily production and expedition of all assigned dishes for each respective service
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation throughout service
• Responsible for mise en place containers, sauces, stocks, soups or other ingredients according to safe and sanitary practices
• Storing all ingredients properly and safely in refrigeration, sanitize cutting board, tools, knives and work area
• Provide support for fellow kitchen team members
• Maintain positive communication between the front of the house staff and the kitchen staff
Requirements:
• Candidates must be available to work weekends
• Candidate must be authorized to work in U.S.
• Candidates should have proof of culinary education and/or certificate
• Must have Food Handlers Certification from NY State
• Ability to work at a fast paced restaurant
• At least 2 years work experience in a fully operation kitchen
• Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively to all team members
