Job description

Caltrol is looking for a full-time Lifecycle Service Technician Trainee to join our team in Chandler, AZ.

You will work with Level l and Level ll Technicians to assist in providing field repair and shop services for all valves, actuators, and general valve instrumentation. We’re looking for a motivated, high-energy candidate who is eager to learn from coworkers and actively support our repair operations.

You must have a valid driver's license in good standing and an excellent driving record.This is a safety-sensitive position. You are required to pass a pre-screen drug test that includes testing for marijuana. You will also be subjected to random hair follicle drug testing.

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 p/hour. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist and learn how to test and assemble valves by following manufacturers’ assembly procedures, work orders or other customer specifications.
  • Clean corrosive and other deposits from serviceable parts using solvents, wire brushes or sandblaster.
  • Required to work at the main facility as well as the customer site to tear down, decontaminate, assemble, repair, and test equipment. Customer site work will at times require inline valve work such as valve fitting, packing change, flange bolting, tightening, etc.
  • Learn how to inspect, evaluate, and verify the accuracy of the assembled unit for conformance to standards and customer requirements.
  • Learn and assist in repairing valves, actuators, and instrumentation in the Caltrol shop and customer sites.
  • Drive stake bed to customer sites to pick up and deliver valves.
  • Help keep up and maintain different shop equipment.
  • Goal to learn with hands-on experience to be able to safely work on repairing control/isolation valves.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to pass and keep up with OSCA Random drug screening and background checks for customers.

  • Valid CA Driver's license and an excellent driving record.

  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as required to meet customer needs.

  • Ability to work independently or as a team member.

  • Ability to send emails and process work orders using computer software.

  • Ability to safely use and maintain a large variety of tools and equipment associated with the assembly of valves and actuators, including impact wrenches, electric and manual hand tools, testing equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts.

  • Strong work ethic.

**Preferred:**

  • Mechanical and Electrical experience.

  • Ability to read customer Schematic drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret assembly manuals (IOM’s).

  • Knowledge/experience of manual machining

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with overtime as needed.

**Working Conditions/Physical Demands:**

  • Must be able to wear the maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction, which may include, but is not limited to, a hard hat, safety glasses, fire-resistant clothing, safety-toed footwear, hearing protection, respiratory protection, etc.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.
  • Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Hazards: Potential exposure to chemicals. Proximity to moving mechanical and mobile equipment.
  • Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions with varying temperatures.

**Travel: **

Ability to travel out of town/state for work up to 40% of the year.
