Job Overview

Yummy Pools is seeking a dependable, experienced and motivated Pool Technician Trainer to support the onboarding and development of new Pool Cleaning Technicians. This is a temporary contract position supporting field operations and technician training. The duration of the contract has not yet been determined and will be based on business needs.

This role is primarily field-based, working alongside new technicians to provide hands-on instruction, reinforce company service standards and ensure trainees are confident performing pool maintenance independently. The ideal candidate enjoys mentoring others, leading by example and maintaining high-quality service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor newly hired Pool Cleaning Technicians in the field
  • Demonstrate proper pool cleaning procedures, equipment operation and safety practices
  • Teach water chemistry fundamentals, chemical testing and balancing techniques
  • Coach technicians on identifying common pool equipment issues and when repairs should be escalated
  • Reinforce company service standards, quality expectations and efficient route management
  • Observe trainee performance and provide constructive coaching and real-time feedback
  • Ride along with technicians during service routes to ensure proper procedures are followed
  • Assist trainees with customer communication and professional service etiquette
  • Ensure technicians properly use company software and mobile applications to document completed work (Skimmer)
  • Help troubleshoot service challenges while encouraging independent problem-solving
  • Maintain a safe work environment by reinforcing company safety policies and best practices
  • Communicate trainee progress and development opportunities with management
  • Assist with routine pool maintenance as needed to support field operations
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous professional pool cleaning experience required
  • Prior experience training, mentoring or leading technicians
  • Strong understanding of pool maintenance procedures and water chemistry
  • Working knowledge of pool equipment and the ability to identify common service issues
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Positive, patient and professional attitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple trainees
