What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.

  • Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.

  • Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and practices.

  • Experience with software testing and debugging tools.

  • Experience using version control tools like Git.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Linux and/or real-time embedded systems such vxWorks or Integrity.

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab and secure software development methodologies.

  • Experience with unit test frameworks such as gTest/gMock.

  • Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance

  • Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs

  • Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.

  • Active U.S. government security clearance (if required for the role).

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
