Job description

The Flooid Quality Analyst collaborates with both technical and business team members as part of an Agile scrum team, contributes to the creation of test scripts, executes and reports on tests, and provides key expertise to the team on quality best practices. The role requires thinking "outside of the box" to understand the various scenarios and configurations that Flooid software can be deployed within real-world retail environments and to ensure customer quality is maintained.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
This Flooid Quality Analyst has great flexibility and the opportunity to work on a global scale. The primary duties of this role include:
  • Working alongside other QAs within a cross-functional project team
  • Working closely with Business Analyst, Software Developers, Solution Engineers and Project Managers to analyze functional and non-functional business requirements, identify the required test data, and create test cases and acceptance tests
  • Identifying testing tasks for new user stories during User Acceptance Testing
  • Setting up and maintaining POS builds and peripherals for testing
  • Performing manual exploratory, regression and user acceptance testing
  • Following the defined defect management process for internal and external defects
  • Owning defects through the STLC and identifying trends to support the root cause
  • Deploying and testing patched defect fixes
  • Demonstrating delivered user stories to customers/stakeholders

Skills and Experience
A successful Quality Analyst at Flooid will be a pro-active self-starter with an eye for detail who collaborates effectively with team members and seeks out opportunities for innovation and improvement. Above all, the Quality Analyst must care about the quality of the software Flooid delivers to customers and be driven to find creative solutions to maintain and improve that quality. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, specializing in the QA/QE contribution
  • Understanding of Retail hardware peripherals and maintenance thereof
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Windows/Linux command line
    • SQL and non-SQL databases (IBM DB2, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB)
    • Data languages (XML, JSON, YMAL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Atlassian toolset (JIRA / Confluence / Xray)
    • CI pipeline tools (Jenkins)
    • Windows & Linux environments
    • Cloud deployments (primarily GCP)
    • Mobile iOS / Android Testing
    • Retail POS Testing
  • Natural inquisitiveness and the desire to work with different colleagues on a variety of initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with collaborators and stakeholders across the business
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with the confidence to ask questions when blocked
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and tight timescales
  • Proactive with a positive attitude
  • Exceptional integrity and accountability - will learn from mistakes and accept guidance and suggestions for improvement
  • Experience in a retail or hospitality environment desired
