Role: Quality Analyst 2 or 3 Location: Onsite- Glen Allen, Virginia Duration: Direct Hire Compensation: $80-100,000 based on experience Summary: Capstone IT is helping our "resume boosting" client find 3 talented Quality Analyst 2 or Quality Analyst 3 to join their enterprise IT team in Glen Allen, VA. This role combines software quality assurance, business systems analysis, and test automation.

You'll work with business and IT teams to understand requirements, create and execute test plans, troubleshoot and track defects, perform root-cause analysis, and identify opportunities for automation. QA 2 candidates should have 3+ years of experience and be comfortable maintaining automation scripts with proficiency in Java and TypeScript. QA 3 candidates should have 5+ years of enterprise QA experience with the ability to develop and enhance automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright and Selenium and languages such as Java and TypeScript.

QA 2 - Mid-Level | 3+ Years Technical Level: Independent QA professional with automation experience. Must be able to maintain automation scripts; the JD requires Java and TypeScript proficiency but does not specify the automation tool at this level. Responsibilities Analyze and document business and system requirements.

Create, maintain, and execute test plans. Identify and track defects and perform root-cause analysis. Identify test cases suitable for automation.

Maintain existing automation scripts. Support multiple projects within a business unit. Partner with business users and IT teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications 3+ years of related QA/testing or business systems experience. Experience independently owning software testing and test plans. Requirements analysis, defect management, and root-cause analysis experience.

QA 3 - Senior Level | 5+ Years Technical Level: Senior QA professional with advanced test automation experience. Must be able to develop, review, and enhance automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright/Selenium and languages such as Java/TypeScript. Responsibilities Own QA/testing across complex, multi-project initiatives.

Analyze complex business and system requirements. Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans. Manage defects and perform root-cause analysis.

Identify opportunities for test automation. Develop, review, and enhance automation frameworks. Work with Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript in the automation environment.

Partner across business and IT teams. Guide and mentor less experienced analysts. Qualifications 5+ years of related QA/business systems experience.

Experience with large-scale enterprise systems across multiple platforms. Strong software testing, requirements analysis, and troubleshooting experience. Strong hands-on test automation experience.

Experience developing or enhancing automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Selenium. Proficiency in Java and TypeScript. Proficiency in HTML and XML with familiarity with React and/or Next.js

Role Context: This company operates energy infrastructure, so these analysts sit between business users and IT. Translating those needs into requirements and test scenarios, testing applications, identifying defects, and helping ensure technology changes work correctly. QA2 = independent QA/BSA + beginning automation.

This person should be able to own testing, investigate issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and maintain automation. QA3 = senior QA/BSA + stronger automation engineering.
