THE WORK
Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 4 SW Engineer Mgr with a Secret clearance to work from our Colorado Springs, CO location.
This position will provide engineering leadership and management skills to a diverse team. Understanding engineering processes will be required to lead the team. This position will oversee operations of multi-user computer systems, networks, virtual computer systems, and COTS software products. In addition, you will be expected to engage in the management and development of personnel to include performing candid employee reviews/evaluations.
You will work closely with site leadership, program managers, product owners, and peers; assuming project responsibility for integration and management of product baselines at a customer site.
This is a day-staff position, but after-hours support may be required. This position and the team will require an on-call component for 24/7 emergency support.
Specific tasks include:
Management for a 7 to 10 person team or software and DeevSecOps engineers.
Monitor and correct system performance issues, system patching and operating system software.
Oversee deployment of software/hardware deliveries, support special projects, and assists operational crews and contractor teams to resolve system issues. Meticulously records problem statements and creates appropriate reports.
Manage personnel resources to support the site's financial plans.
Recruit and hire to develop the proper skill level
Focus on providing guidance to staff members to meet critical schedules and resolve critical/complex technical or operational problems.
Perform administrative management duties for engineering staff. This includes timecard approval (timekeeping/overtime authorization), compliance training, promotions, job actions, performance
reviews, awards, and terminations.
Own, execute, and status site level initiatives.
Assist and coordinate with the test team for system integration and test activities.
Support Ad hoc tasking and stretch assignments as outlined by Program Leaders
