Job Summary:

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as the Company's senior technology executive and strategic business partner, responsible for developing and executing the enterprise information technology strategy in support of Centrus Energy's mission to deliver innovative nuclear fuel solutions that strengthen America's energy security and national security. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CIO provides vision, leadership, and governance for all aspects of information technology, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, digital transformation, infrastructure, data management, and emerging technologies across the organization.

The CIO partners with executive leadership to align technology investments with business objectives while ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT operations across corporate offices and highly regulated nuclear manufacturing facilities. This role leads the modernization of enterprise systems, enhances operational efficiency through digital innovation, and ensures compliance with federal regulations and cybersecurity frameworks applicable to the nuclear industry.

The successful candidate will oversee enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, infrastructure, networking, business applications, data analytics, artificial intelligence initiatives, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and IT service delivery. The CIO will also cultivate strong relationships with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), government customers, and technology partners to ensure technology capabilities support the Company's long-term strategic objectives.


What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute the Company's enterprise technology strategy aligned with Centrus Energy's strategic growth initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on technology investments, cybersecurity risks, digital transformation, and innovation
  • Lead all corporate information technology operations, including infrastructure, cloud computing, enterprise applications, networking, telecommunications, end-user computing, and IT service management
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity program that protects critical infrastructure, intellectual property, classified information, and sensitive business data
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal cybersecurity requirements, including DOE, NRC, NIST, CMMC, and other regulatory standards as required
  • Direct enterprise architecture, application modernization, ERP strategy, data governance, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence initiatives
  • Oversee IT governance, budgeting, capital planning, vendor management, software licensing, and technology procurement
  • Develop business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response strategies to ensure operational resilience
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Security, and Business Development to deliver technology solutions that improve productivity and operational excellence
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service throughout the IT organization
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing technology organization while promoting leadership development and succession planning
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve manufacturing operations, supply chain management, engineering collaboration, automation, and enterprise productivity

We'd Love to Hear From People With:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of progressive information technology leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility
  • 8+ years leading enterprise IT organizations within highly regulated industries such as nuclear energy, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, utilities, or government contracting
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar IT operating and capital budgets
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity frameworks, cloud technologies, ERP systems, data analytics, and enterprise architecture
  • Exceptional executive communication, strategic planning, financial management, and organizational leadership skills
     

A Successful Candidate Brings:

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or related field
  • Experience supporting organizations regulated by the DOE, NRC, NNSA, Department of Defense, or other federal agencies
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), manufacturing systems, and secure facility operations
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CGEIT, PMP, ITIL, AWS, Azure, or equivalent
  • Experience implementing AI, automation, advanced analytics, and digital manufacturing technologies
  • Active Q Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $250k-$300k. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
