What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Software Manager for our Display Applications team. In this role, you will lead the development of safety-critical avionics software for Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multi-Function Display (MFD) systems. This role manages a team of engineers and oversees the full software lifecycle-from architecture and development through verification and certification. You enforce compliance with process objectives for both safety- and non-safety-critical products.

This hybrid on-site position is located at our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Display Applications.

How You Will Do It:

  • Manage and mentor a team of avionics software engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation standards (e.g., DO-178C).
  • Develop and maintain project plans with the project engineering managers.
  • Coordinate with systems, hardware, and process assurance teams.
  • Support customer reviews, program milestones, and certification activities.
  • Responsible for on-time, on budget, correct completion of work packages.
  • Generate technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals.

What We Look For:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Minimum eight years of engineering experience; preferred experience includes software engineering in a safety-critical industry and/or aviation embedded systems.
  • Minimum three years of software leadership or management experience.
  • Understanding of Agile software development.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and integration activities.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and real-time embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with DO-178C and safety-critical development.
  • Familiarity with software project management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

Desired

  • Familiarity with avionics protocols and interfaces.
  • Experience with interface with program managers and earned value projects.
  • Experience with DOORS requirement management tool.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and software metrics automation.
