Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What YOU will do

  • Participate in software development tasks, including design, implementation plans, requirements, software code, integration testing and verification.
  • Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into subsystem high level and low-level requirements and make recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
  • Work in a cross-functional agile team, participating in technical discussions and collaborating with other engineers on the team to find optimal solutions.
  • Lead a cross-functional team daily and coordinate regularly with engineering and project management to ensure success of the product and program.
  • Manage aspects of quality, schedule, and scope while navigating through the various team dynamics.
  • Manage work-processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools for small or moderately complex Projects.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Avionics/Aerospace Engineering or related field and five years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role. In the alternative, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Avionics/Aerospace Engineering or related field and three years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience in safety critical embedded software development and testing.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of DO178B experience.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience in avionics industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in application systems Integration testing.
  • Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

The salary range is $133,494.00 to $165,200.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
