Job Summary:

The Engineering Software Development Supervisor will oversee engineering assignments, ensure compliance with standards, and foster strong relationships with clients while leading a team towards successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure effective performance of engineering assignments.
• Plan and direct the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned.
• Ensure projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards.
• Ensure adherence to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures.
• Monitor goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members.
• Work interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
• Research and assess best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
• Work on special projects, as directed.
• Perform other related duties and tasks, as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
• Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
• Displays leadership characteristics.
• Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
• Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
Preferred:
• Development and deployment of scientific, engineering, or data analysis software applications, preferably for High Performance Computing (HPC) Linux systems.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply software engineering best practices with respect to understanding requirements, design, version control, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Working knowledge of the following programming languages: Python, C, C++, and/or FORTRAN.
