Location: Newport News, VA – On-site Full-Time Required

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance
Program: Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J)
Program Summary
GCCS-J is the DoD’s Joint Command and Control system of record, delivering a fused, real-time operational picture to commanders and warfighters. The modernization effort emphasizes cloud-native software engineering, microservices, advanced data ingestion and synchronization, improved data models, and enhanced user experience to support JADC2-aligned mission objectives.
Position Summary
The Junior Software Engineer supports the GCCS-J modernization team by developing software features, documenting results, assisting with data workflows, and learning system architecture and engineering practices under senior guidance. Key Responsibilities
Area Responsibilities
Software Development Support • Implement basic software components. • Follow coding standards and best practices.
Data Workflow Support • Assist with data ingestion and transformation tasks.
Architecture & Design Assistance • Support design discussions and documentation.
Automation & CI/CD Assistance • Assist with automated tests and CI/CD tasks.
Agile Participation • Attend Sprint ceremonies.
