Job Summary
Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineering Supervisor supports the Process Engineering Manager by overseeing and driving daily operations of the Process Engineering department. The role focuses on leading and supporting daily operations, while directly engaging with and supervising Process Engineers.
Process Engineering Supervisor will: Identify improvement opportunities, use or apply appropriate lean tools, and implement appropriate action plans. Develop standard work instructions as needed, track key performance metrics to ensure performance goals are met, drive cross-functional collaboration and training with Trial/SIM Process Engineers, Senior Process Engineer, Principal Process Engineer, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance,
Automation. Know their teams' abilities, providing feedback, training opportunities, and promotional suggestions to the Process Engineering Manager.
The supervisor ensures engineering alignment with plant strategy, proper training of new PE's, adherence to SOP's, WI's, best practices, successful sustainment of process improvement projects, and help to identify and coordinate training opportunities to foster career growth/development of technical staff to facilitate career paths. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
Essential Functions
Supervision & Leadership:
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the Process Engineering team in a dynamic, real-time manner, ensuring critical KPI's are being consistently met.
  • Assign work tasks that drive and support key organizational initiatives & goals to Process Engineers.
  • Train, mentor, and develop Process Engineers while ensuring adherence to plant Policies, procedures, SOP's, WI's, and best practices.
  • Ensure new Engineers complete allrequired training programs and competency development, and aid in the facilitation of career path development for reports.
  • Look for cross-functional training opportunities while actively engaging, mentoring, and facilitating technical development that aligns with everyone's career path.
  • Monitor KPI's such as OEE and scrap rates to ensure goals and targets are being met.
  • Encourage and support reports to seek training opportunities and pursue educational opportunities.
  • Support and optimize production through the right person, right process, utilizing direct reports' strengths to maximize output and efficiency.

Process Improvement & Documentation:
  • Ability to apply Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology to improve process flow and efficiency.
  • Actively engage in identifying opportunities for improvement by providing technical assessments along with advanced manufacturing solutions.
  • Assist in developing and updating standard WI's/SOP's based on best practices.
  • Track and report KPI's to the Process Engineering group via weekly standup meetings.
  • Record keeping of process-related events & changes, knowing the 5-Ws.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Build strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management, Maintenance, and Automation teams.
  • Work with Senior & Principal Process Engineer to coach & Mentor Process Engineers on lean methodologies and problem-solving through Plan, Do, Check, Act and 5 why analysis through a scientific methodology approach.
  • Assist managers in executing strategic plant goals by identifying and then driving actionable tasks.
  • Continually drive through active engagement with all departments to drive training efforts, lean principles, and adherence to standard work procedures.

Other Functions
  • Participate in strategic planning activities for the Good Hope plant.
  • Research new manufacturing technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain open communication with the Process Engineering Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Process Engineering Manager.

Key Competencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of scientific injection molding principles.
  • Ability to leverage RJG Hub software to recognize and react in real time.
  • General knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodology.
  • Able to analyze and respond to technical demands to meet KPI's.
  • Able to identify skill gaps, opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions
  • Ability to foster collaboration, teamwork, and effective communication.
  • Facilitate team building through active engagement, fostering cohesion and buy-in.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Applied Science, Apprenticeship, or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Scientific molding background through training such as RJG, Routsis, or Paulson.
  • Leadership training or demonstrated leadership proficiency through job experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office, company databases, ERP systems, and RJG Hub software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to attend and participate in relevant job training/education.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE in designated areas.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance.
