We are seeking a Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer (AWS) to join our team. This role will involve designing, automating, and maintaining cloud configuration, release, and infrastructure management processes across AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in AWS cloud services, Terraform (IaC), DevOps pipelines, backup and patching automation, and security best practices, along with a passion for building scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms.


Job Title: Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer (AWS)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite / Week)
Duration: Contract (Extension Possible)

Job Description:

The Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer will be responsible for automating and maintaining cloud infrastructure and configuration processes across AWS environments. This role ensures high availability, security, compliance, and governance through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated pipelines, and cloud best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of configuration management experience
  • 7+ years of experience with AWS Code Suite (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline)
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
  • Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • 7+ years of experience with backup, patching, and compliance automation
  • 7+ years managing SSL/TLS certificates in cloud environments
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • AWS and/or Terraform certifications
  • Experience working in government or public sector environments
  • Experience with Agile tools and project delivery
  • Knowledge of organizational change management (OCM)
