Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer to support and enhance enterprise DevOps platforms that enable secure, scalable, and efficient software delivery. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in GitLab administration, Software Configuration Management (SCM), CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native technologies.

The successful candidate will collaborate across development, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize DevOps processes and platform performance.

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – Mandatory 3 to 5 days per week onsite)

Duration: 8 months

Primary Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise DevOps platforms, including GitLab, Artifactory, Xray, and SonarQube.
  • Configure and manage GitLab Runners, Groups, Projects, and Permissions across large-scale environments.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Support containerized workloads running on Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery.
  • Implement Software Configuration Management (SCM) best practices throughout the SDLC.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to support cloud-based DevOps initiatives.
  • Support cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and IBM Cloud environments.
  • Document operational procedures, platform configurations, and technical standards.
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of experience administering complex enterprise applications and DevOps platforms.
  • Strong Software Configuration Management (SCM) expertise.
  • Hands-on administration of GitLab, Artifactory, Xray, and SonarQube.
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and IBM Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Experience configuring and managing GitLab Runners, Groups, Projects, and Permissions at scale.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience with scripting or programming.
  • GitLab Certified Administrator certification.
  • Recent experience administering GitLab Self-Managed environments.
  • Experience with build management, configuration management, or software quality testing.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) best practices.
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years supporting enterprise DevOps and SCM platforms.
  • Proven success implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.
  • Experience administering cloud-native development platforms and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple technical teams in large organizations.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
