Legal Team Assistant

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $85K – $110K

Are you a seasoned legal professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-stakes environment? A top-tier national law firm is seeking a proactive Legal Assistant to support a growing practice group. This is a critical role for an adaptable multitasker who excels at managing complex billing and providing top-tier executive support to high-level partners.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complex Billing & Financials: Serve as the primary lead for client billing; meticulously process bills and cover letters, auditing hours, and collaborating with the accounting team to navigate a complex billing environment.
  • Practice & Calendar Management: Proactively manage Outlook calendars to prevent conflicts, coordinate extensive domestic and international travel, and oversee meeting logistics, including AV and catering.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as a subject matter expert within the Local Legal Team Hub, providing guidance and training to junior colleagues to ensure seamless departmental operations.
  • Matter & Document Management: Maintain precise document filing via specialized firm software, update CRM databases, and manage new matter reports and professional development tracking.
  • Correspondence & Events: Draft and proofread professional correspondence for counsel and court personnel, while also planning engagement activities like business dinners and cocktail receptions.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 8+ years of Legal Assistant or EA experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with at least 2–3 years of recent law firm tenure.
  • Core Expertise: Proven billing expertise is mandatory. You must have a track record of success navigating complex legal billing cycles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to quickly master firm-specific software (including document management and time-entry systems).
