Summary: 

Responsible for the collection and count of slot cash cans from the gaming floor and the subsequent cash and ticket count conducted in the count room in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength and compliance goals.  Safeguard casino assets at all times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilites:

  • Promote and maintain all steps in the Zia Park Customer Service program with each casino guest and fellow employees you come in contact with.
  • Exchange "hot" slot cans for "cold" slot cans through a process of opening the slot machines and scanning various barcodes in an extremely fast and accurate manner.
  • Prepare to count money; open slot cans, remove money/tickets and attach barcode for preparation of machine count.
  • Scan slot can barcode and send money through a Money Processing System machine which separates all currency denominations and tickets.
  • Strap and brick all money into appropriate values after running through MPS machine.  All straps are dated and initialed by person.
  • Download and import all files including currency and tickets from the MPSs to be sent to Revenue Audit.
  • Count each denomination and record on a worksheet and verifies with all members of the team. 
  • Verify grand total with Revenue Audit.
  • Prepare transfer of all cash to be received by vault.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on cash cans and other equipment used by the team.
  • Abide by all Gaming regulation and policies and internal controls.
  • Maintain integrity and discretion regarding cash amounts.
  • Must at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and the manager.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.
  • Follow all cleaning, sanitation and PPE position specific guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Gaming Commission.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one - to -one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
